Although many grooming needs are universal, regardless of a dog’s breed, you should groom to your dog’s specific coat type. In this book, we will look at how to groom the corded coat, which is an unusual coat that, despite its somewhat disheveled appearance, requires a fair amount of work.

Before we launch into the book, however, I would like to start by listing a number of popular dog breeds that are known for having corded coats. Please bear in mind that the list only covers AKC-registered breeds. There are many other dog breeds, including designer breeds, that have this type of coat and will need the grooming considerations detailed in this book.
