Although this book is about puppy manners, it is important to note that many of the tips in the other books in this series touch on puppy manners. If you are not sure what I mean by ”puppy manners,” it is simply teaching your puppy not to chew or nip, and how to greet people when socializing.
How your puppy behaves is very important. While some people can be overindulgent with habits such as jumping up and barking when the puppy is young, it is important to remember that the puppy will grow up.
That means that in a very short time, usually within a year, you no longer have a cute puppy but an adult dog that has many bad habits. I have learned that people are less forgiving of an impolite dog than they are of an impolite puppy.
Puppy manners will make sure that your puppy is polite throughout his life. He will learn how to greet, how to walk on a leash and how to behave when company leaves. It is important that you stress the importance of puppy manners to everyone you meet. While they may want to ignore you, if they are going to indulge your puppy’s bad habits, then you should avoid the meeting all together.
In this book, I will take you through a few manners that every puppy should know.
